How does the Offline mode work?

You can find below the answers to all your questions regarding the Offline mode in Monapass.

If you cannot find your question in the list below, please send us a request directly from your Monapass account, from the tab MyInfos > Contact Monapass

The "Offline" mode allows you to access your passes when you do not have an internet connection.

Each time you log in to your Monapass account, your smartphone saves automatically your login credentials and passes for 24 hours. In this way, when you lose internet connection, you can still access your passes!

This mode being offline, the MonaBike passes cannot be used. If you have several Monapass accounts, it is the latest account to which you logged into that will be accessible via Offline mode.

Each time you log in to Monapass, your smartphone saves automatically your tickets for 24 hours.

All your active passes (those that have a QR code or barcode) can be used in the Offline mode. The 2 exceptions are:
-    The Monabike passes because the application needs to interact with other systems to unlock a bike
-    The Monaco Bus passes that require an activation (1 trip pass, 10 individual trips pass, Group pass, 24H pass)

Only the functionality of accessing to your active passes will be available in the Offline mode. All the other functionalities of the application (log-in to services, messaging service, transport info, etc.) will not be accessible in the Offline mode.

There are 2 ways to switch to the Offline mode.

Manually : from the login page, you can click "Switch to Offline?" if you do not have an internet connection:

Automatically: when you lose your internet connection while using the app, it will automatically display a pop-up inviting you to use the Offline mode:

Once you have an internet connection, you can simply click on the "Switch to online" button to be able to use again all the functionalities of Monapass:

The Monabike passes require an internet connection to unlock a bike, therefore, they cannot be used in the Offline mode.

Whenever you have an internet connection, you can simply click on the "Switch to online" button to be able to use again all the functionalities of Monapass.

2 reasons could explain why you do not see your passes in the Offline mode:

  1. Your passes are saved on a different Monapass that the one you logged into the last time. As the application saves the credentials of the latest login, the passes saved on the latest account are accessible via the Offline mode
  2. Your passes expired since the last time you were connected to the app in an online mode
